Victim Relief Ministries

Since 1999, the members of Victim Relief Ministries and the Victims Chaplains Corp of
America, have been a dedicated and committed partner to the Dallas Police Department. The group consists of trained volunteer chaplains from all spiritual denominations that stand prepared to assist victims of crime. Under the leadership of their founder, Executive Director Gene Grounds, the ministry has solidified itself as a community resource and collaborative partner to the Dallas Police Department.
Over the past few years, Victim Relief Ministries has expanded their role by serving in support of police operations at major special events held throughout the City of
Dallas. The chaplains group has become fond of the Central Patrol Division and has served in a vital role in support of events such as Texas/OU Weekend, Cinco de Mayo Celebrations, Dallas Convention Center Hurricane Relief Shelter, Grambling/Prairie View Weekend, and the NBA All-Star Week.
The group recognized early that the Dallas Police Department did not have group of dedicated volunteers, as does the Dallas Fire and Rescue, that are present to assist officers on long term missions by providing food, snacks, and beverages. VRM filled in the gap by providing volunteers to serve officers who are on the scene of long term incidents. Additionally, they have responded to hospitals when officers are injured and provided support to those officers, their families, and other officers who may have been impacted by the event.
All Dallas Police Officers are appreciative of the services provided by VRM in support of them, as well as in support of their core mission of dealing with crime victims from a level of care, concern, and compassion. They truly have answered the question of, “…..Whose there when the police leave?”
Thank you VRM for your continued service to the Dallas Police Department and especially the Central Patrol Division. If you would like to learn more about VRM please visit www.victimrelief.org. or email them at vrm.victimrelief.org or call their offices at 972-234-3999.
